Infosys Q3 net surges 51.5% to Rs 497 cr

Indian software giant Infosys Technologies Ltd, on Wednesday, said it has posted a net profit of Rs 497 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 as compared to Rs 328 crore (Rs 3.28 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2003.

Giving the outlook for the quarter ending March 2005, Infosys said it's income is expected to be in the range of Rs 1956-Rs 1964 crore (Rs 19.56-19.64 billion), posting a year-on-year growth of 45 per cent while earnings per share is expected to be Rs 18.90, a Y-o-Y growth of 50 per cent.

For the fiscal ending March 31, 2005, income is expected to be in the range of Rs 7098-Rs 7107 crore (Rs 70.98-Rs 71.07 billion), a growth of 46 per cent, the copany said. It had earlier issued a revenue guidance of 48 per cent growth for the fiscal with income expected in the range of Rs 7132-7160 crore (Rs 71.32-71.6 billion).

The group has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 497.34 crore (Rs 4.97 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 as compared to Rs 328.51 crore (Rs 3.28 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2003.

Consolidated total income has increased from Rs 1303.47 crore (Rs 13.03 billion) in the Q3-03 to Rs 1921.92 crore (Rs 19.22 billion) for the quarter ended December 31, 2004.
