The facility Quickremit Online assures direct credits to accounts of NRI family members held with any of the 20,800 branches of the 90 banks of India, which participate in Reserve Bank's RTGS online platform, the bank said.
NRIs can use Quickremit to send a remittance from any bank account in the US or UK by logging on to www.hdfcbank.com.
The bank processes a remittance through RBI's Real Time Gross Settlement Service and credits funds to the beneficiary's account on the same day or latest by the next working day.
