Forex reserves zoom to $141 bn

Foreign exchange reserves zoomed $3.062 billion to $140.60 billion for the week ended July 29, 2005 when compared with the previous week, according to the weekly supplement released by the Reserve Bank of India on Saturday.

Foreign currency assets increased $3.066 billion to $134.587 billion. Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $4.453 billion and $4 million, respectively. The Reserve Tranche Position with the IMF declind $4 million to $1.556 billion.
