August 26, 2003 09:03 IST

Cybermate Infotek has bagged a $6 million contract from the United States-based firm ARI for the maintenance and development of SurfaceStyles.com for the next three years.

SurfaceStyles.com is a B2B exchange, which facilitates interaction between consumers and producers in the surfacing industry in the US, P C Pantulu, managing director of Cybermate Infotek, said.

Besides the SurfaceStyles.com contract, Cybermate has also bagged a contract to provide business solutions for Key Systems in Greece.

"Cybermate will earn revenues of up to $3 million from the deal, which will be executed over a period of three years," Pantulu said.

Secunderabad-based Cybermate mainly concentrates on providing business solutions to overseas companies.

However, Pantulu said the company would now focus on expanding its presence in Europe and India as well.

He said the software industry had passed through a bad phase, and "those who survived are not likely to shut shop."

Set up in 1994-95, Cybermate began full-fledged operations in 1999. Cybermate Infotek Inc, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the company, is located at Marlton, New Jersey, in the US.

For the quarter ended June 30, 2003, Cybermate registered a net profit of Rs 2.78 crore (Rs 27.8 million), as compared to a profit of Rs 49.50 lakh (Rs 4.9 million) during the corresponding quarter the previous year.
