The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice on a petition filed by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India challenging an order of TDSAT holding that the regulatory body had no authority to adjudicate on disputes raised by a service provider.
The Court issued a notice to BSNL as it was on a petition of the PSU, the TDSAT had given the ruling that "when dispute arises on the issue of breach of licence agreement or on the question of inter-connectivity between the service providers, it is the appellant tribunal,TDSAT which is the sole judicial authority to on decide the dispute and not TRAI."
