Communications and IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran on Friday launched the Web site of noted industrialist and Rajya Sabha member Anil Ambani who said it was an interactive forum where people can share with him their views on important political and government issues.
"This is a technological initiative which will encourage new standards of transparency in public life. I hope more Parliamentarians will follow suit and become interactive citizens in the digital age that we live in," Maran said after the launch.
"For too long, our polity has been divided between those who know and those who don't know. This Web site is a means of bringing our legislative institutions closer to the people to help build a better informed India," Ambani said.
Terming infocomm as an engine of growth, he said "Reliance Infocomm would announce its broadband operations after government unveils the policy next week."
Initially the Web site -- www.anildambaniforindia.com -- will be in Hindi, English and Urdu languages, Ambani said, adding that a 24-hour call centre would also work for an interactive message service with citizens.
