Amway too joins the BPO bandwagon

Amway India has tied up with the Chennai based Sai Mirra Innopham Pvt Ltd to indigenously manufacture its nutrition and wellness products hitherto being imported.

This is the fifth third party partnerhsip the company has in India to manufacture its variety of products, William S Pinckney, managing director and CEO, Amway India told reporters in Chennai on Friday.

The company was planning to launch at least 11 new products in the Indian market between now and August 2004, he said, after launching the Nutrilite Kids Berry-Blast, its latest nutrition product for the Indian consumers.

Amway India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the $5 billion Amway Corporation, USA has so far invested around Rs 151 crore (Rs 1.51 billion) in its Indian operations since the company entered the country in 1998.

The company now offers 45 products in India through direct selling through more than 3,70,000 active distributors.

Pinckney said that the company would continue to focus on nutrition, wellness and cosmetic categories in the Indian market.
