Dhir falls after quickfire 47, MI 4 down

MI 110-4 (12.3 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

Mumbai Indians finally crossed the 100-run mark in style, thanks to a confident surge from Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir during the middle overs.

Krunal Pandya continued his spell, but MI began to shift gears. Dhir picked up a single early in the over before Tilak unleashed a majestic six over mid-wicket, signalling intent. He followed it up with smart strike rotation, and a quick single brought up MI's 100 -- a crucial milestone after the early setbacks.

The over ended with MI gathering 11 runs from it, taking them to 102 for 3 after 12 overs, firmly rebuilding their innings.

However, the momentum was halted quickly as Rasikh Salam Dar struck soon after coming into the attack. Dhir, who had looked in fine touch, first smashed a boundary and then tried to keep the pressure on -- but was eventually cleaned up for a well-made 47 off 32 balls.

A timely breakthrough for RCB, just as MI were starting to accelerate.

MI 91-3 (11 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

Mumbai Indians kept their steady rebuild going through the middle overs, with Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir rotating strike smartly and gradually rebuilding the innings.

Suyash Sharma was introduced into the attack but couldn't break the rhythm as MI picked up easy singles early in the over. Dhir then broke free, launching a clean six to shift the momentum back towards MI. A miscued attempt off the next ball went off the inside edge onto the pad, but MI survived and kept moving.

The over ended with another single, taking MI to 75 for 3 after 9 overs.

Krunal Pandya continued to bowl a tidy spell, mixing accuracy with variation, but MI kept finding gaps. Tilak added a couple of well-run twos along with regular singles as both batters stayed composed under pressure.

After 10 overs, MI reached 82 for 3, steadily rebuilding without taking unnecessary risks.

Romario Shepherd returned for another over, and Dhir immediately counter-attacked with a powerful six. Despite a few tight deliveries, MI managed to keep the scoreboard moving with singles and a couple of extras in running between the wickets.

By the end of 11 overs, MI stood at 91 for 3 -- recovering well after the early collapse and slowly building towards a competitive total.

RCB drop catches as MI fight back

MI 65-3 (8 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

Mumbai Indians continued their recovery with a cautious but steady rebuild from Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir after the early collapse.

Romario Shepherd was introduced but couldn't break through immediately, with a mistimed effort in the field going begging as MI picked up easy singles and kept the scoreboard ticking.

The batters rotated strike well, each taking a single to close the over, helping MI reach 57 for 3 after 7 overs.

In the next over, Krunal Pandya came into the attack and tried to apply control. However, MI capitalised on a small overthrow and smart running between the wickets to keep the pressure on the fielding side.

Tilak and Dhir continued to work in ones and twos, mixing caution with calculated aggression. A quick flick, a couple of sharp singles, and steady strike rotation ensured MI didn't lose momentum again.

After 8 overs, MI reached 65 for 3 -- rebuilding slowly, but staying alive in the contest after that early top-order damage.

RCB drop catches as MI fight back

MI 53-3 (6 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

Mumbai Indians began to find a bit of momentum in the sixth over after a shaky powerplay, with Tilak Varma and Naman Dhir working hard to keep the scoreboard moving.

Rasikh Salam Dar was introduced into the attack but didn't get the best start, with a misfield from Romario Shepherd gifting Tilak an extra boundary that shouldn't have come. Dhir also capitalised soon after with a well-placed shot for four, helping MI recover some lost ground.

There was a moment of fortune too -- a mistimed pull from Dhir went high towards deep square leg, where Jacob Bethell charged in but couldn't get there in time, leaving RCB frustrated.

The over ended with another twist as Suyash Sharma dropped a straightforward chance, letting MI off the hook once again. Tilak added a couple more runs before a dot ball closed the over.

A much-needed lift for MI -- 12 runs came off it, taking them to 53 for 3 after 6 overs, as they slowly tried to rebuild after a rocky start.

Bhuvi rattles MI; removes Rohit, SKY

MI 41-3 (5 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

Mumbai Indians steadied slightly after a shaky start, with Tilak Varma joining Naman Dhir at the crease.

Josh Hazlewood kept things tight, allowing just a leg bye and a single as MI tried to rebuild. Dhir managed to break free with a well-timed boundary, giving MI a brief lift amid the pressure.

The real drama, however, came from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was on a hat-trick and nearly made it happen. He came agonisingly close -- Tilak was beaten on one delivery, surviving by the narrowest of margins.

Despite the scare, Tilak and Dhir rotated strike and added a few useful runs, including a boundary from Dhir to ease the tension slightly.

After five overs, MI reached 41 for 3, still under pressure but showing faint signs of recovery after a brutal early spell from RCB's bowlers.

Bhuvi rattles MI; removes Rohit, SKY

MI 28-3 (3 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

The over began with a wide from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, but he quickly tightened things up. Naman Dhir struggled to get going, managing only a single as pressure built from both ends.

Rohit Sharma briefly tried to counter with a classy boundary, but Bhuvneshwar had the final word. A perfectly disguised knuckle ball outside off tempted Rohit into a drive, and a thick edge flew straight to the keeper, where a sharp take sealed the wicket. Rohit departed for a quick 22 off 10, and the RCB camp erupted.

To make matters worse for MI, Suryakumar Yadav walked in at No. 4 but was dismissed first ball -- a shocking double blow that left the batting unit stunned.

By the end of the over, MI were reeling at 28 for 3 after 3 overs, with Bhuvneshwar once again proving why he remains such a dangerous powerplay weapon.

Mumbai Indians slipped into deep trouble in a dramatic third over as momentum completely shifted in favour of Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

CSK thrash LSG; MI lose Rickelton vs RCB

MI 22-1 (2 Ovs) vs RCB | SCORECARD

Mumbai Indians openers Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma walked out to begin the innings, with Rickelton taking strike and the experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar opening the bowling.

It didn’t take long for drama to unfold. Rohit got off the mark with a quick single, and Rickelton also managed a couple of sharp runs early on. But the pressure from Bhuvneshwar kept building.

On a teasing delivery outside off, Rickelton finally went for the big shot -- but couldn’t get the timing right. The ball went straight up, and Rajat Patidar made no mistake, diving forward to complete a clean catch.

A sharp start for Royal Challengers Bengaluru as Rickelton departed for just 2 off 4 balls. After the first over, MI were 4 for 1 -- a tense beginning under pressure.

Mumbai Indians saw early movement in their innings after Naman Dhir came in at No. 3 following the early wicket.

At the other end, Rohit Sharma took on Josh Hazlewood in an eventful over. He began cautiously with a defensive shot, but then nearly holed out -- the ball just cleared mid-off and raced away for four.

Rohit kept the momentum going with a flick for a couple more runs, before surviving a beaten edge on the next delivery. Then came the counterattack -- back-to-back sixes from the MI skipper, turning the over on its head.

After two overs, MI reached 22 for 1, with 18 runs coming in that second over alone, swinging the early momentum back in their favour.
