WI 171-2 (18 ovs) vs India 165-9 | Scorecard

Varma comes back into the attack. The part-time spinner nearly strikes again as King mistimes s a full toss straight back at him but he fails to hold on.

King cuts the short delivery past point for a four and lofts the full delivery over long-off for a six to bring the West Indies within touching distance of the series win.

Six runs needed from three overs as part-timer Jaiswal comes into the attack.

King hits the first ball to long-on for one and Hope inside edge the slog for two runs followed by a single.

King calmly drives the fifth ball down to long-off for a single to level scores before Hope finishes it off in grand style, with a massive sixer back over the bowler's head.

West Indies thrash India by eight wickets with two overs to spare to win the five-match series.

King finished unbeaten on a superb innings of 85 from 55 balls, while Hope was unbeaten on 22 from 13 balls.

King's second-wicket partnership of 107 from 75 balls with Pooran (47) proved to be decisive in the series decider.

The five-match series lived up to its top billing. West Indies won the first two games before the young Indian team refused to give up as they bounced back to win the next two.

But West Indies came up with a strong all-round showing in the fifth match to claim their first T20 series victory against India and end their run of five straight series losses.

West Indies on course for easy win

WI 148-2 (16 ovs) vs India 165-9 | Scorecard

More spin as Axar Patel comes into the attack, to bowl the 15th over.

The first ball is tapped to midwicket before Hope cuts the next past point for a couple of runs.

The next ball is flighted right up as Hope drives it through the covers for two more runs.

Hope on the attack as he plays a cracking inside out lofted shot over the off-side for a boundary but is unable to get a run from the last two balls.

West Indies need 34 from five overs for victory.

Chahal is back as he takes over from Varma. King clips the first ball to midwicket and cuts the next past point for two runs and then takes one.

The ball seems to have got a bit damp due to the wet outfield and has been changed by the umpires.

Chahal's horror outing with the ball continues as King slams the last two balls of the over for back to back sixes, to virtually seal the deal.

Chahal finishes with expensive figures of 51 runs from his four overs, as he concedes 16 runs from the 16th over.

West Indies in control with 18 needed from four overs for victory.

Varma strikes; Pooran out for 47

WI 124-2 (14 ovs) vs India 165-9 | Scorecard

The players are back on the field as the match gets underway. Chahal continues with the ball with a slight drizzle still noticeable.

Chahal starts with a slow flighted delivery which turns sharply as King blocks it on the off-side. The next ball is short but again grips and turns as the right-hander is able to control the pull shot for a single to long-on and Pooran also mishits the pull shot for another run.

Part-time off-spinner Tilak Varma comes into the attack. He beats Pooran first ball with one that goes straight on as wicketkeeper Samson whips off the bails and is pretty confident with the stumping appeal.

The decision is referred to the TV umpire but Pooran's feet are firmly grounded as the left-hander survives.

Varma misses out on a wicket in his very first delivery in international cricket. But he gets his man off the very next delivery as Pooran tries the reverse sweep but gets hit on the gloves and is caught at first slip.

The umpire is not interested as Varma takes the review and Pooran starts walking off.

An important strike for India as Pooran walks back after scoring 47 from 34 balls, after putting on 107 for the second wicket with King.

Shai Hope drives the overpitched delivery from Varma through the covers for a couple of runs to get off the mark.

He lofts the next ball down the ground on the bounce to long-on for a single.

The wicket is doing some things. The ball turns and also stays low as King clips it on the leg side before he pulls the last ball for two runs.

West Indies are 124/2 in 14 overs, needing 42 from six overs for victory.
