Dell Corporation chairman and CEO Michael Dell made a brief visit to Bangalore on Wednesday and addressed over 3,000 employees working in its global customer relationship management facilities.

Dell also visited Infosys Technologies Ltd and interacted with Infosys CEO and managing director Nandan Nilekani, besides visiting Dell's Indian operations, before flying to Malaysia in his private jet Wednesday evening.

This was Dell's second visit to the Indian subsidiary Dell International Services Ltd in exactly one year.

Dell India officials declined to comment further on Dell's visit stating it was "private" and "internal."

The Indian operations has grown from 800 professionals last year to over 3,000 in the three units now, catering to Dell's operations in the United States and Europe. The company had projected an increase in employee strength to 2,500 during Dell's previous visit.

The 38-year old Dell also took stock of the progress made by the India centre since his last visit.

The India centre provides both e-mail and telephone-based technical support to Dell's users and develops software applications for the American parent, besides outsourcing work to companies like Infosys.

During his visit last year, Dell had met Wipro chairman Azim Premji and Nandan Nilekani and explored the possibility of outsourcing software work to them.
