Even as the BSNL's call charges between metros and circles have been reduced for basic-to-basic, cell and unified access operators with inter-service area connectivity, the PSU has realigned pulse durations for various category calls within and outside its own network.

While all calls from basic including WLL of BSNL within Tamil Nadu Circle including Chennai, West Bengal Circle including Kolkata and UP (East)/UP (West)/Uttaranchal will be treated as intra-circle calls, calls from basic to all

cellular networks including UASP of other service area in same state will be charged at a pulse rate of 45 seconds and 60 seconds in case of BSNL Cellular Network.

However, for Maharashtra circle the calls from Maharashtra basic to all other cellular networks including that of MTNL Cellular in Mumbai shall be charged at 45 second pulse rate as BSNL does not have any access network in Mumbai.

In case of basic-to-basic calls from Maharashtra circle to Mumbai (MTNL), calls shall be treated as intra circle calls.

For basic-to-basic calls within 50 km, the pulse duration is 180 seconds, while for a WLL call, it is 90 seconds and for ASL, it is 45 seconds. For distances beyond 50 km, pulse duration for basic-to-basic and WLL calls is 60 seconds and in case of Unified Access Service Licence, it is 45 seconds.

All calls from cellular to all cellular/fixed network of these states will be charged at intra-circle tariff as per respective plans of the calling subscriber except in case of Maharashtra.
