Bhopal Express, the prestigious train running between Habibganj (Bhopal) and Hazrat Nizamuddin (New Delhi), has become the first train in the country to get ISO 9001-2000 certification.
The train will now be renamed as Shaan-e-Bhopal Express, general manager of the Central Railways Surya Pal Singh told reporters after Madhya Pradesh Governor Bhai Mahavir specially flagged off the train at a function to mark the achievement.
The train, which was introduced three years back, has been chosen for the certificate by the Norwegian firm of KVQA. This certificate imposes a lot more responsibility for maintaining the quality and services in it.
He said a charger will be now provided for cell phones in compartments of the train, while a coffee vending machine has already been made available.
