Russian Olympic champion Yelena Isinbayeva set a world women's indoor pole vault record for the third time within two weeks on Saturday.

Isinbayeva, who set the outdoor world record at 4.92 metres in Brussels last September, vaulted 4.89 metres on her first attempt at the Lievin indoor meeting.

She beat her previous mark of 4.88 metres set eight days ago in Birmingham.

Isinbayeva, who has been tipped by the great Sergei Bubka to become the first woman to clear the five metres barrier, then attempted 5.05

In the showpiece event of the evening, the men's 60 metres final, American Leonard Scott edged out compatriot Maurice Greene, the former Olympic and world 100 champion.

In the 60 metres hurdles, local favourite Ladji Doucoure beat four times world champion Allen Johnson in 7.43 seconds.

France's Christine Arron won the 200 metres women's final in 22.69 seconds.
