Swarn came second in semifinal C, clocking 7:36.25 at the the Eton Dorney Rowing Centre. He had finished fourth in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, which ousted him from competing in the main semifinal round.

He will now compete in the final C on August 3, which will be for the 13th to 18th placing.

In the men's lightweight double sculls, Sandeep Kumar and Manjeet Singh finished last in semifinal D with a timing of 7:19.31.

The Indian duo will compete against the Egyptian team of Mohamed Nofel and Omar Emira, who finished last in semifinal C on August 4 to decide who takes the wooden spoon.
