India's third largest software exporter Wipro on Tuesday said it was anticipating more incremental revenues from Europe going forward.
"We are strong in Scandinavian and Beneloux countries. We have presence in Portugal and Brazil and we are building more businesses in France and Germany. The incremental revenue from Europe to go up substantially in the time to come.
"That does not mean that revenue from US which highest at present will shrink. Our penetration level in Europe is very low. So the revenue will go up higher," Wipro chairman Azim Premji said in New Delhi after a book launch. In Q2, the US was the major market for Wipro, contributing 63 per cent of its total revenues, followed by Europe (32 per cent) and Japan (four per cent).
Premji, who holds over 80 per cent in Wipro, said the company had three acquisitions in Europe, where once it had a non-Indian workforce of just 250. Today with these acquisitions, the total strength is 3,300 there and the non-Indian (or local) strength is 1,300.
Going ahead, Premji believes 25 per cent of the total workforce of Wipro would be non-Indians.
Wipro, which has IT services, product engineering solutions, infrastructure services, BPO and consulting services as business portfolio, also sees the consulting business driving more business in the future.
"The consulting business is gaining momentum. Currently, five per cent of the revenue comes from this segment. In the next three to four years, we hope to get 8-10 per cent of our revenue from consulting services," Premji said.
