Delhi Police has denied permission to Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik to hold a 48-hour hunger strike in the national capital to press for his demands, including handing over the body of Parliament attack case convict Afzal Guru to his family.

"Yes," said City Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar when asked by PTI whether any decision was taken to deny permission for the protest at Jantar Mantar starting on Friday.

The decision came after security agencies submitted a report to the Union home ministry stating that giving permission to Malik to hold protest in Delhi may create law and order problem.

The report also said Malik had been involved in "anti-national" activities in the past, sources said.

The JKLF leader had shared dais with Lashkar-e-Taiba founder and India's most wanted terror mastermind Hafiz Sayed when he had staged a protest in Islamabad against the hanging of Guru.
