The Afghan Taliban have in a message stated that they are not relying on Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence in their war against US-led NATO troops in Afghanistan.

The statement assumes significance in the backdrop of the war of words between Islamabad and Washington in the recent days.

The Pashtu-language message, posted on the taliban website alemara.com, states that the US allegations are merely propaganda through which Washington wants to show that the Taliban are disintegrating and send out the message that the mujahideen are not indigenous but the product of Pakistani secret agencies.

The message said, "After receiving severe blows with the hands of the mujahideen from the Islami Emirate, American forces are in the state of disarray. To keep the their weak position hidden from the people, they have started a blame game and thus occupying people's minds with propaganda."

"They have attributed the astonishing attacks of Taliban to the secret agencies of the neighbouring country, Pakistan. It (the blame game) is also an effort to show that the Taliban are not fighting like a unit and that they are divided into different groups in Afghanistan."

Rubbishing allegations that the dangerous Haqqani network terror group was 'a veritable arm of' the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence, the Afghan Taliban said: "Jalaluddin Haqqani is a confidential and important member of Afghan Taliban and he works according to the instructions of the head (Mullah Omer) of the Islamic Emirate."

The message also urges Pakistani public and the government to end their fruitless pro-American polices.

"We the taliban also suggest to Pakistani people and the government to realise the double standard policies of the US and the Americans would never acknowledge any kind of their sacrifices. Pakistan should always keep its own interest in mind. Remember that the Americans would be only satisfied after they take every Pakistani thing in their control."
