The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday voiced concern in the Lok Sabha over Home Minister Shivraj Patil's statement that the country's critical infrastructure including nuclear, oil and power installations faced "serious" threats from terrorists.
Lok Sabha Deputy Leader V K Malhotra said the home minister had projected an alarming picture of the security situation and faulted him for not taking Parliament into confidence in such a crucial matter.
Demanding a statement from Patil on the matter, he alleged the government was not doing enough to tackle the problem of terrorism and this was evident from the way it was dealing with the issue of hanging of Parliament attack convict Mohammed Afzal Guru and its action of scrapping POTA.
