Rashtriya Janata Dal's Lalu Prasad was the odd man out in the Lok Sabha on Saturday when he questioned the need for a debate on the Lokpal issue saying a bill in this regard was already before a Parliamentary Standing Committee.

"Is this government not violating (Parliamentary supremacy) by discussing a matter that is before a Standing Committee," Prasad asked as the Lok Sabha took up discussion on Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's statement on issues relating to the setting up of the Lokpal.

The Lokpal Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August four and referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice  soon after.

"The matter is before a Standing Committee. Whosoever has anything to say should approach the Standing Committee," Prasad said.

Mukherjee urged the members to find a solution to the Lokpal issue within the Constitutional framework and without compromising the supremacy of Parliament.
