The impasse over vacating the Bihar chief minister's official residence - One, Anne Marg, by the Lalu-Rabri duo after power slipped away from their hands might end on Thursday with the couple deciding to shift to the house allotted to them, a close aide of the family said on Monday.

"After consulting astrologers, the family has finally decided to shift to 10, Circular Road residence, earmarked for Rabri Devi as leader of Opposition in the Bihar assembly on the occasion of Basant Panchami (February 2), considered auspicious for shifting to a new place," the aide said.

A huge lantern (symbol of the Rashtriya Janata Dal), which was put up at the main gate of One, Anne Marg, was removed and placed at the 10, Circular Road, earlier occupied by Lalu's high-profile brother-in-law and Lok Sabha member from Gopalganj Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav.

All broken tiles have been replaced with glazed tiles of the choice of the family and the boundary walls have been raised in accordance with the 'Z Plus' security status that the Railway Minister enjoys in view of threat from communal forces.

Bathrooms have been furnished with fresh sanitary fittings and the electrical wirings have been covered. New sheds have been constructed to accommodate the security men, particularly CRPF personnel responsible for the security.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had on several occasions expressed anguish over the delay by the Lalu-Rabri duo in vacating the One, Anne Marg residence. "What should I say about it? Over two months have already lapsed but they (Lalu-Rabri) are yet to vacate the house," Nitish had said.
