Gunmen fired at and injured a constable outside a bank in Shopian district of Kashmir and decamped with his service rifle on Friday, police said.
The gunmen opened fire on a police party guarding Jammu and Kashmir Bank at Kachdoora in Shopian, resulting in injuries to constable Sartaj Ahmad, a police official said.
The ultras decamped with the service rifle of the injured cop, who has been rushed to a hospital.
Security forces have launched an operation to track down the gunmen, the official said.
