The Election Commission has announced Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana and the final rolls will be published on January 11, 2016, an official said in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Revision of rolls began on Monday and draft voters' lists with 3.51 crore voters in Andhra Pradesh and 2.54 crore of voters in Telangana have been published, Chief Electoral Officer for the two states Bhanwar Lal told reporters in Hyderabad.

Applications for inclusion in electoral rolls or any other changes could be submitted through forms from October 5

to November 4, he said.

Booth Level Officers and Booth-Level Agents of political parties will sit together on October 11 and November 1 (both Sundays) from 10 am to 5 pm at the respective polling stations, while applicants may avail of the facility, he said.

The CEO said 6.30 lakh deletions were undertaken in voters' lists in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area during the period between January 18 and September 16 this year.

No deletions took place without following due procedure, he said.

GHMC elections are expected to be held in the coming months and parties including the Congress, TDP as well as the BJP, have alleged that lakhs of votes have been deleted to benefit the ruling TRS.

"However, to be more transparent, instructions were issued to District Election Officers of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medak to re-verify such cases identified as shifted, 'door locked', ineligible, duplicate and dead during door to door verification through Booth Level Officers along with Booth Level Agents appointed by political parties from Wednesday onwards in 24 GHMC assembly constituencies," he said.

Bhanwar Lal, who held a meeting with parties on Tuesday, said that they have been requested to supply the list of Block Level Agents to electoral registration officers of 24 assembly segments in the GHMC area on Wednesday.
