Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states will come out of the 'BIMARU' status before next assembly polls, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani said on Thursday.

Party-ruled Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and National Democratic Alliance-ruled Bihar will emerge from the 'BIMARU' status before the next assembly polls, Advani said while inauguarating Rs 176.75 crore Maan Irrigation Project here in the tribal-dominated Dhar district.

He accused the Centre of compromising on issues of terrorism and corruption and disapproved claims made by 'Transparency International', which said that corruption was "exported" from India.

"It (corruption) is imported from Iraq and Russia as is evident from the fact that a Minister had to lose his chair," the senior BJP leader said apparently referring to the Iraqi Food for Oil Scam.

"Although a minister was sacrificed, the party (Congress) was given a clean chit. There was a definite role of the party," he said, adding this indicates that UPA had been compromising on corruption.

The manner, in which campaign for commutation of capital punishment to Mohd Afzal, prime accussed in Parliament attack case, was being allowed to be carried out, indicates that the Centre was going soft on terrorism, Advani alleged.

Advani alleged that wrong policies were forcing farmers to commit suicides.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave a detailed account of development works of his government and announced to re-name the project that aims to irrigate 15,000 hectares of land, in the memory of former BJP leader Kushabhau Thakre.
