Darbhanga's first class judicial magistrate has cancelled the bail of Golu Kumar Sahni and Shatrughan Ram, after they failed to comply with the high court directive.
The high court had granted them bail on the condition that they would perform kar seva at Shyama temple in Darbhanga for a period of six months.
Recently, three accused in separate cases were ordered by the high court to visit the temple
for six months and furnish a certificate of conduct by the temple priest. But all of them failed to comply with the court order.
Sahni, an accused in a case of burglary last year, was found involved in several such cases by the police during investigation.
According to police officials, cancellation of bail of two accused by the court will send a strong message to violators of the high court directive.
In Bihar, hundreds of people, particularly teenagers, were granted bail by courts and asked to serve in temples for six months or up to a year. But police officials said that in most cases the accused failed to do perform kar seva.
