Murali, brother of actress Sudharani and one of the popular dubbing artists in the Kannada film industry, makes his directorial debut with the Kannada film, Baa Bega Chandamama. The movie is produced by Kumara Swamy.

The film revolves around Deepu and his friend who steal bikes. Deepu wants to become rich and manages to move into a house with a fake identity. His mission is to lay his hands on Poonachcha's Rs 2 crore. Before stealing the money, he falls in love with Preethi, Poonachcha's daughter, who understands that Deepu has a heart of gold.

Unfortunately the film fails flat on all counts raising doubts about Murali's directorial capabilities. Murali has also composed the songs and has utterly failed in that department too.

Baa Bega Chandamama is an illogical film from start to finish. Poor music composition and ordinary camera work are the other negative points. Despite acting in three films and working in three more, Deepak struggles to add life to his role.

New girl Suhasini from Andhra Pradesh performs better in her role. Avinash as the heroine's father is repeating what he has done in more than fifty films. Bullet Prakash is becoming monotonous these days. The so called comedy sequences involving Deepak and Bullet Prakash fail to bring in any laughter.

All in all, Baa Bega Chandamama is a no show.
