When they worked together 38 years ago in the blockbuster Haath Ki Safaai, Randhir Kapoor and Vinod Khanna barely exchanged pleasantries on the sets.
But the two veterans got along so well while shooting for Prabhu Deva's yet-untitled love story that the director frequently found himself waiting patiently as the new friends wrapped up their conversation before shots.
The friendship has grown so strong that when Randhir had to take time off from the film's schedule for his daughter Kareena Kapoor's wedding, Vinod Khanna -- known to be a stickler for schedules -- happily obliged.
So it was quite strange that Khanna was reportedly not invited for Kareena's wedding reception.
A source from the unit said, "Dabbooji (Randhir) and Vinodji have all their scenes together. They play best friends in the film and are inseparable on location, both on and off camera. Vinodji immediately agreed to wait for his co-star to finish with the family wedding."
The film's director Prabhu Deva said about their camaraderie, "Vinodji and Randhirji share a fabulous equation. We had to adjust our schedule according to the wedding. There was no stress. Vinodji was very accommodating."
