Urmila Matondkar has replaced Lara Dutta in director Tanuja Chandra's English film. Emraan (who will debut in Footpath, releasing August 15) will play the male lead. The yet-untitled film will be shot entirely in New York.
Tanuja says, "The film is a love story between a Muslim boy and a Sikh girl, set against the 9/11 incident in the US. We will soon leave for New York shoot for the film. It will be a start-to-finish schedule."
The film will be produced by Lal Dadlani (Kehta Hain Dil Baar Baar), who is also an overseas distributor.
