'Salman is my younger brother and will always be'

'I don’t want Salman or anybody to go through what I did, never. I always wish well. Somewhere, justice prevails and I am happy that it happened with Salman.'

'Munnabhai will happen in 2018 and I am also waiting for it.'

Sanjay Dutt talks about Salman, movies and his birthday celebrations.

"I have celebrated my birthday in the jail for three years. Today I am a free man and I am so happy that I can celebrate it with my kids," said Sanjay Dutt as he celebrated his 57th birthday with the media and fans on July 29.

Dutt held a press conference in the lobby of his building, in Bandra, and candidly spoke about his good friend Salman Khan and his upcoming movies.

The 57-year-old actor even recalled how he use to celebrate his birthday in the jail.

"Whatever was allowed, they used to do that. They used to make cookies for me. I got a lot of love there too and I thank the jail authorities and the inmates there, they gave a lot of love to me."

The Agneepath baddie also revealed that there won't be any grand celebration.

"It is better to be with the family and close friends," he said.

Remembering his parents, Sunil Dutt and Nargis on his special day, Dutt said, "I miss them today and I think they would have been proud of me."

For a long time, reports have been doing the rounds that all is not well between Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.

Putting an end to these rumours, the PK star said, "Salman is my younger brother and he did call me (to wish)."

"Salman is my younger brother, has always been and will always be. God has given him all the grace, he has got good success and all his cases are over but I request the media to not make it an issue," he added.

Though Dutt is still close to his Saajan co-star, the two don't meet everyday. It's not possible he said, adding, "He is busy, I am also busy. We met in Madrid but media didn’t write about that."

In fact, recently when the Being Human superstar got a clean chit from the Rajasthan High Court, Dutt made sure to call Salman

He said, "I have always called him and I feel happy for him. I don’t want Salman or anybody to go through what I did, never. I always wish well. Somewhere, justice prevails and I am happy that it happened with Salman."

On professional front, Dutt has quite a few films on his plate.

"My film with Vinod Chopra sir (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) will start in November, it’s called Marco. Then I am doing a movie with Mahesh Manjrekar. It’s a remake of the Marathi film De Dhakka. Then there is a good line up of movies. Munnabhai will happen in 2018 and I am also waiting for it," he said.

Talking about his biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor, the Sanjay Dutt said, "I am not acting in that. It will go on floors in February. I haven’t given any inputs to Ranbir for the role."

The birthday boy cut his cake and first fed his wife, Manyata, who was also present at the press conference.

The Munnabhai star confessed he was totally surprised with the gift he received from his wife. "It was really sweet (of her). It’s a Q7 (Audi Q7) yaar," Dutt said with a big smile.
