Aditya Raj Kapoor: My father lived a happy life

Shammi Kapoor's only son Aditya Raj Kapoor [ Images ] claimed that his father lived a happy life, and died happily as well.

"We can watch his films and can sing and dance on his songs," Aditya said. "My father lived a happy life and died happily. He was unwell for some time but he fought his illness for almost a decade and decided to dance with God."

Shammi succumbed to renal failure on Sunday morning. He was 79.

Aditya asked the media assembled at their home in Malabar Hill, South Mumbai [ Images ], on Sunday, to pray for his soul. "Please pray that his soul rests in peace," he said. "I miss him and I know so will you. Wherever he is today, he must have started dancing and enjoying. I wish that new actors should take some inspiration from my father and take his style of dancing forward."
