On Sunday, the world woke up to the news that Shammi Kapoor passed away at 5:15 am due to kidney failure. The film fraternity changed their Sunday plans, and landed up at the late actor's home in Malabar Hill, South Mumbai, to pay their last respects.
Seen here, is Shammi's younger brother Shashi Kapoor (in the wheelchair), and nephew Rishi Kapoor.
Shammi's last cinematic outing will be in Rockstar, starring his grand nephew Ranbir Kapoor.

Shammiji held a special place in Aamir Khan's heart. Khan always called him his lucky mascot, and had asked him to launch the music of his films like Taare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na.
Apparently, Aamir's uncle Nasir Hussain had been very close to his Dil Deke Dekho hero Shammi.

Shammi's only son Aditya Raj (right) was notably upset with his great loss. The funeral was apparently held the day after Shammi died in order to wait for Aditya's son, who returned from the US immediately.
Actor Tinnu Anand, and directors Subhash Ghai and Rahul Rawail were others who visited Shammi's home on Sunday.
