How have India's biggest companies performed in FY12? While revenues of the top companies have risen, the net profit has dropped this year, says Fortune magazine which has listed India's 500 largest corporations.

While the top 500 companies saw a 24% growth in revenues, net profits turned negative (-3%).

In the Fortune 500 list of Indian companies, 83 are owned by the government, 370 are private sector firms and 47 are foreign owned.
