The Brand Trust Report has come out with a list of 1,000 Most Trusted Brands in India.

The report, a result of research conducted on 61 components with 2718 'influencer' respondents from 15 cities, generating more than two million data-points from 12,000 hours of study, lists the names of the companies that are most respected by Indians.

Nokia

India ranking: 1

Nokia Corporation is a Finnish multinational communications corporation headquartered in Keilaniemi, Espoo, a city neighbouring Helsinki.

It manufactures mobile electronic devices, mostly mobile telephones and other devices related to communications, and in converging Internet and communications industries, with 130,000 employees in 120 countries, sales in more than 150 countries.

It was the world's largest manufacturer of mobile phones in 2011, with global device market share of 23 per cent in the second quarter.

Nokia produces mobile devices for every major market segment and protocol, including GSM, CDMA, and W-CDMA.

Nokia offers Internet services such as applications, games, music, maps, media and messaging through its Ovi platform. Its joint venture with Siemens, Nokia Siemens Networks produces telecommunications network equipment, solutions and services.

Tata

India ranking: 2

Tata Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is one of the largest conglomerates in India by market capitalisation and revenue.

It has interests in communications and information technology, engineering, materials, services, energy, consumer products and chemicals.

Tata Group has operations in more than 80 countries across six continents and its companies export products and services to 80 nations.

It comprises 114 companies and subsidiaries in eight business sectors, 27 of which are publicly listed. 65.8 per cent of the ownership of Tata Group is held in charitable trusts.

LG

India ranking: 3

LG Corp is the second-largest South Korean conglomerate company following Samsung, and it is headquartered in the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

LG produces electronics, chemicals, and telecommunications products and operates subsidiaries like LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Telecom and LG Chem in over 80 countries.

LG Corporation founder Koo In-Hwoi established Lak-Hui Chemical Industrial Corp in 1947. In 1952, Lak-Hui became the first Korean company to enter the plastics industry.

As the company expanded its plastics business, it established GoldStar Co, Ltd, (currently LG Electronics Inc) in 1958.

Both companies Lucky and Goldstar merged and formed Lucky-Goldstar.

Bajaj Group is an Indian conglomerate founded by Jamnalal Bajaj in 1926, Mumbai. Bajaj Group is one of the oldest and largest conglomerates based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
