In a bid to make air ticket booking a hassle-free experience, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has developed a mobile app.
The IRCTC app which provides the lowest fare available and does not charge convenience or processing fee while other websites charge Rs 150-250 per passenger per sector. The cancellation charges are also low.
A maximum of nine passengers can be booked on one PNR through net banking, for only Rs 10 per PNR.
Flyers have to download the IRCTC Android-based mobile app - IRCTC Air - from Google Playstore to book tickets.
If tickets are booked through credit cards, the app charges only 1.8 per cent of the total amount, which is cheaper compared to other portals, says the IRCTC.
You can book domestic and international flight tickets and cancellation refund is done within 30 days.
“Now we have gone a step further to provide the facility on Android-based mobile sets. Our server is very fast, and tickets can be booked for both domestic and international destinations round the clock,” Dr A K Manocha, chairman and managing director, IRCTC.
The mobile app, developed in-house, stores a passenger’s previous flight searches and booking history that can easily be retrieved. The IRCTC also has a 24/7 customer support service.
