The United Progressive Alliance government is toying with the idea of reserving jobs for backward castes in the private sector.

The move has stirred up a hornet's nest. Some say job quotas are a must in the private sector to help the backward castes grow economically.

Others feel the private sector's efficiency will be adversely affected due to quotas.
