Pressure map: West Indies vs Zimbabwe
Srinivas Bhogle
March 20, 2007 17:03 IST

A score of 203 seemed eminently 'get-able' for West Indies (WI) playing at home against Zimbabwe. Rediff.com's expert reckoned that WI could get to at least 250 if they batted 50 overs.

WI's pressure index (PI) therefore opened at 53.

With no other pressures, such as a high NRR requirement, WI batted in a leisurely fashion. Gayle occasionally let fly with three consecutive sixes but skipper Lara, in particular, seemed to be in no hurry at all.

With Lara at the crease, the PI hovered for a long time around 80.

But as the endgame approached both Bravo and Lara hit a six and a four apiece, in the 43rd and 48th over respectively, to show that they were in full control of the chase.

Sunil T of Cranes Software helped create this pressure map based on the details retrieved from the Rediff scorer.
