Sprint ace Mark Cavendish is leaving Team Sky in order to fulfil his Tour de France ambitions after spending this year's race serving as a domestique for race winner Bradley Wiggins, the British team said on Thursday.
World time trial champion Tony Martin has quit the Tour de France in order to let a broken bone in his wrist heal in time for the London Olympics.
"He was booed on the course and a spectator threw urine at him. I didn't see it but you could smell it on his jersey. You could think Mark was angry, but he was actually disappointed," team manager Patrick Lefevere said.
