Johri is the one who has been accused in the Sohrabuddin-Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter case. However, the special Central Bureau of Investigation court discharged her from the case in March 2015, as the prosecution failed to obtain sanction for her prosecution from the state government.
Geetha Johri and three other police officers who figure as accused in the 2006 Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case on Friday moved the Gujarat high court, challenging the Danta court's jurisdiction to accept the charge-sheet. Of the 20 accused named in the Central Bureau of Investigation's charge-sheet, Johri, R K Patel, Rajkumar Pandian and P C Pande have filed the petition in the high court. It may come up for hearing before Justice R H Shukla on September 24.

Indian Police Services officer Geetha Johri, who headed the Gujarat Crime Investigation Department probe into the 2005 fake encounter case of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and killing of his wife Kausar Bi, was on Thursday questioned for over eight hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The Central Bureau of Investigation issued summons to Geetha Johri, the investigating officer in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and killing of his wife Kausarbi, on Thursday and asked her to appear before the agency by August 10.
They include Geetha Johri, who was the Investigating Officer when the case was being probed by the State CID, according to CBI sources. The central agency has also called Rajneesh Rai, who was the one who had arrested three IPS officers, D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandian and Dinesh M N, considered to be main conspirators behind the encounter of Sheikh and disappearance of his wife Kauserbi in November 2005, they said.
With police remand of the three IPS officers arrested in the case ending on Saturday, the CID would try to ferret out as much information as possible from the accused.
