The United States senate on Tuesday approved Democratic Senator John Kerry as the next secretary of state, who is set to replace Hillary Clinton.
Worried at the emerging reports from Pakistan, the United States has announced that it would provide immediate assistance to $8 million for "unexpected and urgent refugee and migration needs" in Pakistan, including through international non-governmental organizations.
Inaugurating a confirmation hearing for Timothy Roemer, who has been nominated as new US Ambassador to India, Democrat Senator John Kerry said, 'There are many areas where we can make real progress. First, we have to help India to break with the perilous politics of South Asia's past. India needs no lectures: virtually no nation has suffered more from terrorism than India.'
