The session, which began on June 17, was scheduled to end on July 26.
In a show of solidarity against the Union government, the opposition forced it's hand in the Rajya Sabha, stopping two important legislations put on the fast mode for passage on the last day of its winter session on Tuesday.
This was decided in the business advisory committee meeting, where the leaders of various political parties agreed for a discussion on the fraud. The short duration discussion in the Lok Sabha was listed for February 13 but was deferred following a request from leader of the Opposition L K Advani.
This became clear with Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunshi revealing on Tuesday that the Bill will be brought for consideration in the current session itself.
The Parliament will have an extended three-day weekend break till November 18 for observing Chhat pooja, a major festival for the people of Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
This comes after the government and opposition parties said a consensus has been reached to extend the duration of the allotted time on the discussion on a Motion Thanking the President for his Address to the Joint Sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajaya Sabha at the beginning of the Budget Session, from the currently allocated 10 hours to 15 hours.
Several parties had requested that the session, which was originally scheduled to continue till April 8, be curtailed due to the five assembly elections being held in eight phases till April 29.
The meeting was called for discussing the points which were raised by Governor Kalraj Mishra on Monday.
