The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday arrested senior IAS officer and Andhra Pradesh Principal Home Secretary B P Acharya in a case related to alleged irregularities in land transfer and sale of villas and apartments in a township in the state. The township has been jointly developed by the state-run Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and Dubai-based infrastructure firm Emaar.

HEC will be developed by the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority of UAE in association with APIIC. The government gave the land to APIIC at Rs 16 lakh (Rs 1.6 million) per acre, AP's information and public relations minister said after a cabinet meeting. The investing agency had sought 2,000 acres for the HEC. The remaining land would be given in due course, an APIIC official said.
The first-phase of the three-phase project is to set up the trade tower on over 4 million sq. ft area. The second phase is to develop the business district on 30 acres in seven years. In the third phase the remaining 16.28 acres of the business district on would be developed.
So far the tallest tower being built by Shapoorji Pallonji group in Mumbai is about 80-storied tall.
