Three Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed and four security forces personnel injured during an encounter in the Pantha Chowk area in Srinagar on Friday, December 31, 2021.
Jammu and Kashmir Police Constable Rameez Ahmad Baba died in a terrorist attack on a bus carrying policemen on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday.
The bus came under fire from terrorists in Zewan in Pantha Chowk area this evening, police officials said.
He would be the first non-Jammu and Kashmir cadre officer to be posted in Srinagar after the cadre was merged with the Assam, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre following the bifurcation of the erstwhile state into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh on August 5, 2012.
The bus carrying personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police came under fire from the terrorists in the evening. The vehicle was going from Bemina to Zewan, a police official said.
