Wrestling's world governing body UWW has suspended Bajrang Punia till the end of this year following NADA's decision to hand him a provisional suspension for refusing to undergo a dope test.
The wrestlers refused to back down from their demand that the government immediately disband the Wrestling Federation of India.

Training has been suspended across Sports Authority of India (SAI) centres since mid-March to contain the COVID-19 pandemic. Mirabai Chanu, on Monday, requested Sports Minster Kiren Rijiju to allow resumption of training at the earliest. Weigtlifting national coach Vijay Sharma said social distancing can be ensured at the training hall in Patiala.
Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju reviewed the measures taken by all SAI centres to keep the athletes motivated and engaged in this difficult times. Rijiju held a meeting with regional directors of all SAI centres across the country through a video conference call and took a stock of the situation. He also deliberated upon measures needed to be taken once the lockdown is lifted.
