The transplant surgery was performed recently at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in central Delhi.
The Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) had earlier said that she was admitted for 'routine tests and investigations'.

Delhi government authorities on Tuesday issued an order asking luxury Taj Mansingh Hotel to have its rooms and premises be placed at the disposal of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for using it as an attached COVID-19 facility.
The study, which was conducted on more than 100 healthcare workers at three centres in India including Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, found that the B.1.617.2 Delta variant not only dominates vaccine-breakthrough infections with higher respiratory viral loads compared to non-Delta infections (Ct value of 16.5 versus 19) but also generates greater transmission among the fully vaccinated HCWs.
"White fungus (Candida) causing multifocal perforations in the food pipe, small bowel and large bowel in COVID-19 infection has not been reported in literature to the best of our knowledge," Dr Anil Arora, Chairman of the Institute of Liver, Gastroenterology and Pancreaticobiliary Sciences at the hospital, said.
A government doctor said hospitals in Delhi are wary of admitting more patients amid a serious shortage of oxygen in the city.
"Lives of another 60 'sickest' patients at risk. Major crisis likely," he said.
"It appears he is not in a mood to work today," Mishra said taking a jibe at Jung.
