The Supreme Court on Wednesday approved the centre's guidelines to protect Good Samaritans, who help road accident victims
"Sundar Committee has presented its report to us which speaks about various reforms required in the legislation governing the road sector. The Ministry will review it and soon take a decision as to whether we need a new Motor Vehicles Act," Transport Minister CP Joshi told reporters.
A group of retired civil servants also called upon the PM to reach out to the families of the victims in Unnao and Kathua and "seek their forgiveness on behalf of all of us".
Minister of State for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan said the vessel had more than 32,000 tonne of oil and has been emptied.
