Even as the Mumbai police look for Indian Mujahideen co-founder Roshan Khan, Intelligence Bureau sources say that he might have fled the country. Khan, according to police records, is a resident of Bhatkal in Karnataka, 150 kms away from Mangalore. He is also known as Riyaz Bhatkal.Preliminary investigations suggest that Khan controlled the operations of the IM in Karnataka and Maharashtra. He was in charge of supplying arms and ammunition and organising the outfit's finances

Sri Rama Sena founder Pramod Muthalik, re-arrested on Saturday after being granted bail in the January 24 pub Mangalore pub attack case, has been hospitalised.Earlier, speaking to PTI, he said he would not bother even if 1,000 cases were filed against him as he has been fighting for the cause of Hinduism. Muthalik is to be produced at a court in Virajpet in Madikeri on Monday for making a provocative speech at Gonikoppal in December 2003.

The 27 accused in the Mangalore pub attack case were granted bail by a local court on Saturday.The accused, who are members of the right-wing group Shri Ram Sena, include the outfit's state unit chief Prasad Attavar. The court also directed them to furnish a personal bond along with a surety. The accused have also been asked to cooperate with the ongoing investigation process.Shri Ram Sena founder Pramod Muthalik was also granted conditional bail by a local court.

A Mangalore court on Friday declined bail to Sri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik, who was arrested in connection with Saturday's attack on a group of women in a local pub.The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC)-II K S Vijay sent Muthalik in police custody till Saturday. The Sri Ram Sena leader has been arrested in connection with Saturday's attack on a pub by the activists of his outfit, who thrashed women and others in an act of moral policing.

For housing loans up to Rs 30 lakh, the floating interest rates for various tenures range from 8.75 per cent to 10.25 per cent. For Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh, the floating interest rates range from 9.50 per cent to 10.75 per cent and for Rs 50 lakh and above, the floating rates range from 10 per cent to 11 per cent. The revised fixed interest rates are 11 per cent and 11.50 per cent depending upon the loan amount.

The pilot initiative will provide Rs 30,000 insurance cover for 250 people living with HIV in Karnataka's six districts of Bellary, Mangalore, Mandya, Kolar, Mysore and Udupi. The insurance cover entails the beneficiary Rs 15,000 assistance for hospitalisation and a similar sum to his family in the event of his death, Sanjay Rao Chaganti, programme director of Population Services International, an NGO behind the project, said.
