Admitting that he had earlier fought a case for Bina Ramani with regard to the custody of her children, Jethmalani denied that he had charged the key prosecution witness with resorting to falsehood in the Jessica Lal murder case.
Sharma, son of former Union minister Venod Sharma, was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment by the Delhi high court in December 2006 for killing Jessica Lal in 1999.
On the night of April 29-30, 1999, Jessica was shot dead after she refused to serve him drinks at a restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani.
"Two-thirds of the evidence produced by the prosecution is false. When majority of the evidence is false, the whole case is doubtful," Jethmalani argued.
The case of the defence primarily rested on the statement given by complainant Shayan Munshi in court earlier.
"I have 14 reasons to show that how her evidence does not advance the prosecution case at all."
Taking suo motu congnisance of the newspaper reports on the acquittal of all accused in the Jessica Lal murder case, the Delhi high court Friday issued notice to the Delhi police commissioner to file a reply stating reasons.
Munshi was caught while trying to leave the country on Saturday.
Gill's plea for bail is likely to be heard on Wednesday by the Division Bench of Justice R S Sodhi and Justice P K Bhasin.
The case was re-opened following the police appeal challenging the acquittal of all nine accused by a lower court.
Munshi was one of the cases in the Jessica Lal case.
The SRB, at its meeting, recommended release of 22 convicts on completion of their sentences and rejected 86 other cases, including the three high-profile murder cases.

"The judgement has come as a closure of something that was going on for the past seven years. The way this case was progressing, we had given up all hope of getting justice," an emotionally choked Sabrina said.
The defence of convict Manu Sharma in the Jessica Lall murder case that two weapons were used in the offence did not sustain the scruitny in the Supreme Court which said the ballistic report was vague and no credence can be lent to it.
The court posted the matter for further hearing to April five.
He said the Delhi High court ought to have waited for the copy of the judgement in the Jessica Lal case to come out instead of taking cognisance solely on the basis of news reports.

Additional Sessions Judge S L Bhayana acquitted Siddarth Vashist alias Manu Sharma of charges of murder and Vikas Yadav, Tony Gill, Alok Khanna of charges of destruction of evidence.
Dr Bedi has been charged with issuing false medical certificates.
