The 2 reporters were imprisoned by authorities in Myanmar, on charges of breaking the country's Official Secrets Act, while they were conducting investigations into the killings.
Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo, Pulitzer Prize winning journalists, were sentenced last September to seven years in jail.
The judge said the journalists 'collected and obtained confidential documents'.
Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been sentenced to an additional 18 months' house arrest by a court in Rangoon, says a BBC report.
Aung San Suu Kyi spent her 58th birthday on Thursday in Yangon's forbidding Insein prison.
