Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General AK Singh on Tuesday released a book Counterinsurgency and Quest For Peace written by Colonel (Dr) Anil Athale (retd).
Date, a 1990 Indian Police Service officer of the Maharashtra cadre who once sold newspapers in Pune to financially support his family, was honoured with the President's Police medal for gallantry for his role in what has come to be known as the 26/11 attack.

'If we cannot handle an epidemic of that strata, (causing that kind) of excessive calamity, then we really have to prevent it.' 'If we become complacent in even preventing it, then we are in for a disaster.'
