Stocks of IT companies, including Wipro and Megasoft, took a beating at the bourses after it was revealed on Monday that the two firms were barred from doing businesses with the World Bank.
The National Stock Exchange on Wednesday removed Satyam from its benchmark index Nifty and the IT firm will be replaced by Reliance Capital with effect from January 12.

Shares of Infosys surged almost 7 per cent on Friday after the IT major reported a 13 per cent growth in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December 2014.
Brokers have till Friday to submit half their shares.
