"My USA (trip) demonstrates the extraordinary depth and diversity of our relationship. A lot of ground has been covered in these few days (sic)," Modi tweeted before his departure.
Officials said Prime Minister Modi will not have a bilateral meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif during his current five-day trip to the US.
Modi is scheduled to meet over 50 CEOs of Fortune 500 companies over dinner hosted in New York on September 24.
